IPL 2020: KKR vs MI, Rohit Sharma Led Mumbai Indians Won by 49 Runs & Register Their First Victory in UAE
Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata knight Riders by 49 runs in the fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The fifth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) was played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi in which Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata knight Riders by 49 runs.
Rohit smashed 80 off 54 balls which included three fours and six deafening sixes. He added 90 runs for the second wicket with Suryakumar Yadav (47 off 28 balls, six fours, one six). Mumbai scored 195 for five with significant contribution from both of them. Rohit Sharma was named ‘Man of the Match’ for his wonderful innings.
In reply, KKR’s team was able to score 146 runs for nine wickets. His side failed to bowl and Pat Cummins, who came in to bat at number eight, scored the most 33 runs, including four sixes in an over from Jaspreet Bumrah (2 for 32). Trent Boult, James Pattinson and Rahul Chahar also took two wickets each from Mumbai.
Dinesh Karthik led Kolkata knight Riders lost their first match in IPL for the first time since 2013, while Mumbai registered their first win after six defeats in the UAE. Earlier, they had lost five matches here in 2014, while this time they lost to Chennai Super Kings by five wickets in the inaugural match. This is Mumbai’s 20th win against KKR.
