Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 10 runs. Kolkata, batting first, scored 167 runs in 20 overs. Chennai was able to score 157 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. Rahul Tripathi played brilliantly for KKR.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 10 in the 21st match of the 13th season of Indian Premier League (IPL). In the match played in Abu Dhabi, Kolkata won the toss and challenge Chennai with a target of 168 runs while batting first. In reply, Chennai Super Kings could only be able to score 157 runs for 5 wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders opener Rahul Tripathi scored the highest 81 runs for the team with the help of 8 four and 3 sixes.
The match was in Chennai’s control until the 13th over. In 13th over Watson’s dismissal became the turning point of the match. Kolkata’s Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakraborty, Kamlesh Nagerkoti, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell got 1-1 wickets. Kolkata has now moved to third in the points table with 6 points after this win.

Chennai Super Kings had a great start. Shane Watson (50 runs) struck a 30-run opening partnership with Faf du Plessis (17 runs). This was followed by a 69-run partnership with Ambati Rayudu (30 runs).
Chennai completed 100 runs in 13 overs for 2 wickets. Then Watson was hunted by Sunil Narine LBW. From here, none of the Chennai batsmen, including skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (11 runs), could maintain the momentum brought by the openers.

Earlier, KKR could score 168 runs while winning the toss and opted to bat first. Kolkata opener Rahul Tripathi batted brilliantly and scored 81 runs for the team. Rahul hit 8 fours and 3 sixes off 51 deliveries. At the same time, Dwayne Bravo of Chennai took 3 while Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur and Sam Karan took 2-2 wickets.
