Delhi Capitals on Monday finally announced the replacement for leg-spinner Amit Mishra. 27-year-old Pravin Dubey is selected as the replacement for veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra for the remaining matches of Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020).
Mishra has been ruled out of the IPL due to a finger injury. In a press release issued by Delhi Capitals, Pravin has been announced as a replacement for Mishra in the team.
Pravin Dubey plays from the Karnataka team in Ranji. He has taken 16 wickets in 14 T-20 matches at a 6.87 economy rate. Amit Mishra suffered a finger injury in the match played against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah on 3 October. After which he had to undergo surgery.
Amit Mishra has taken 3 wickets in a total of 3 matches played this season. Mishra has taken 150 wickets in 150 matches of IPL at an economy rate of 7.34.
“I never expected the injury would be this serious. I thought it would be for a match or two but have to accept it,” Mishra, who has bagged 160 IPL wickets, the second-highest in the league history, had told IANS.
“The fact that I got injured while playing – trying to catch the ball — giving my 100 per cent is a bit satisfying. It is not an injury related to fitness which means I am doing fine,” he added.
Rishabh Pant is Injured Too
Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has also missed the last few matches due to a hamstring injury in the match. He was injured in a match against Rajasthan Royals on October 11. He was advised to rest by doctors.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma of Delhi Capitals has also been ruled out of the ongoing tournament. Ishant had a pain in the ribs while bowling during the team’s training session on October 7.
