The tournament begins on September 9, and India will play their first match a day later against UAE. The final is set for September 28 in Dubai.

According to a report in The Times of India, some big names could miss out as the team management looks to retain the core group that played after the T20 World Cup 2024. One of the notable omissions is likely to be Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The 22-year-old opener has reportedly been told to focus on red-ball cricket. Jaiswal has been in superb form in Tests, delivering strong performances both at home and overseas.

Jaiswal’s T20I career so far has been impressive as he has scored 723 runs at a strike rate of around 165, with one century and five fifties.

The stylish Indian batter has also been a consistent performer for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, finishing among the top run-scorers in recent seasons.
