India Women Seal First T20I Series Win in England with Confident Chase at Old Trafford

India Women beat England by 6 wickets to win their first T20I series in England, led by a strong chase and Radha Yadav’s bowling

India Women made history in Manchester, defeating England Women by six wickets in the fourth T20I at Emirates Old Trafford to take an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the series. This is India’s first-ever T20I series win in England.

Bowlers Set It Up, Batters Finish the Job

England won the toss and chose to bat but were kept in check by tight Indian bowling. They managed just 126/7, with Sophia Dunkley top-scoring with 22 off 19. There were no boundaries between the 10th and 18th overs, a sign of India’s control.

Radha Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 15, also taking a diving catch to remove Dunkley. Shree Charani added 2 for 30, keeping England under pressure. Late sixes from Sophie Ecclestone (16*) and Issy Wong (11*) helped the hosts go past 120.

India’s chase was steady and confident. Smriti Mandhana (32) and Shafali Verma (31) gave a good start. Then came Harmanpreet Kaur (26) and Jemimah Rodrigues (24*), who calmly took India home in the 17th over.

Harmanpreet sealed the win in style with two back-to-back fours off Charlie Dean.

England bowlers Lauren Bell and Lauren Filer struggled early, giving away runs in the powerplay. Tammy Beaumont, standing in as captain with Nat Sciver-Brunt out injured, made 20 before falling to Radha.

The final T20 will be played at Edgbaston on Saturday, followed by a three-match ODI series starting July 16 in Southampton, where Sciver-Brunt is expected to return.
