India vs England: Ravindra Jadeja Ruled Out of Test Series
Ravindra Jadeja to miss remaining Test matches against England due to thumb injury.
India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of the ongoing four-match Test series against England.
As per the report of Cricbuzz, Jadeja’s recovery is taking more time than expected and there’s “no chance” he will be fit for the Tests. Meanwhile, whether the senior cricketer will be fit for the white-ball matches against England is also not clear.
Jadeja had fractured his thumb in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between Team India and Australia at Sydney. Thus, Jadeja was further ruled out of the first two matches of the ongoing series between Joe Root’s England and hosts India.
Jadeja was then sent to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to supervise further his injury after consultation with a hand specialist in Sydney.
Earlier, the BCCI had announced the squad for the first two Tests and it was expected that Jadeja might make a return for the third and fourth Test matches respectively but now the 32-year-old cricketer will not be available for the full 4 match test series.
Reports claimed that Jadeja would have gone to Ahmedabad early for the mandatory quarantine to be ready to join the full squad.
The Indian management left out Kuldeep Yadav, who has been in bio-bubble since August and played just a couple of tour games in Australia. Indian skipper Virat Kohli gave hints about possible changes during the post-match conference on Tuesday.
“There are no regrets whatsoever on that decision. Moving forward, we will think of the combinations which bring us variety as a bowling attack, and not one dimensional, turning away from the bat,” Kohli had said in the virtual press-conference.
