India to Play Bangladesh in Their ‘Only’ T20 World Cup Warm-Up Match

India will play Bangladesh in their only warm-up match.

The Indian cricket team will head into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 with a limited preparation, playing just one warm-up match against Bangladesh. This solitary game will take place on June 1st at the newly built modular stadium in Nassau County, New York.

The Men in Blue are expected to arrive in the US in three batches. The first two arrive on May 25th and 26th, with the final group consisting of players participating in the IPL final, if applicable.

This lone warm-up clash could be the first major event at the new stadium, inaugurated on May 15th with cricket legends like Usain Bolt and Shoaib Malik in attendance. The 34,000-seat stadium has drop-in pitches for optimal playing conditions.

New York City will be a key location in the tournament, hosting eight of the first-round matches played in the United States. Dallas and Florida will each host four first-round games, with India playing three of theirs in New York and their encounter with Canada scheduled for Florida.

Similarly, England and Pakistan, engaged in a four-match T20 series concluding on May 30th, will also forego warm-up matches. The T20 World Cup kicks off on June 1st (June 2nd, 6 AM IST) with a North American clash between the United States and Canada in Dallas.
