The schedule for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 has been announced. The marquee event gets underway from October 16 when former champions Sri Lanka take on Namibia in Round 1 with the final, scheduled to be played on November 16.

A total of 16 international teams will compete in 45 matches as the mega event in men’s T20 cricket comes to Australia for the first time.

India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa are part of Group 2, and they will be joined by two more teams from the qualifiers. The Group 1 consists of teams like Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan and England, while two more teams from the qualifiers will join them later too.

Group 1: Australia, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, A1, B2

Group 2: India, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, B1, A2

India, who won the inaugural event in 2007, will start their campaign against Pakistan on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
