India Humiliated in Hong Kong Sixes! Suffer Losses to Kuwait, UAE & Nepal
India endured a disastrous Hong Kong Sixes 2025 campaign, losing to Kuwait, UAE, and Nepal despite having veterans like Karthik, Uthappa, and Binny in the squad.
India’s campaign at the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 turned into a nightmare as the side crashed to defeats against Kuwait, UAE, and Nepal, managing just one narrow win over Pakistan in their first four matches.
With seasoned names like Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa, and Stuart Binny in the squad, expectations were high. But India’s performance failed to match the hype, as the team struggled across all departments.
India began their campaign with a shocking 27-run loss to Kuwait. Bowling first, they had no answers to Yasin Patel’s fireworks. The Kuwait batter hammered 58* off just 14 balls, including five sixes in the final over, to lift his team to 106/5 in six overs. In reply, India faltered badly despite a fighting 26 off 9 from Abhimanyu Mithun, folding for 79/6.
Their only win came against Pakistan, a rain-hit two-run victory that ended early due to weather interruptions. But the relief was short-lived as the side suffered another hammering, this time from UAE.
Mithun’s fifty and Karthik’s 42 had helped India post 107/3, but UAE chased it down with ease. Khalid Shah and Saghir Khan went berserk early on, smashing 42 in the first two overs as UAE cruised home at 111/2 in 5.5 overs.
If those losses weren’t enough, India hit rock bottom against Nepal. In what turned out to be a complete mismatch, Nepal’s openers tore into India’s bowlers to post 137/0 in six overs. In reply, the Men in Blue collapsed to 45 all out, a humiliating end to their campaign.
