India crushed New Zealand by eight wickets in a one-sided third T20I in Guwahati, chasing 154 in just 10 overs to seal the series in emphatic style.
New Zealand managed 153/9 after being asked to bat first, never quite recovering from regular wickets. Glenn Phillips top-scored with 48, but lacked support at the other end.
India’s bowlers kept things tight from the start. Jasprit Bumrah led the attack with 3/17, while Ravi Bishnoi returned to the side and picked up 2/18.
All-rounder Hardik Pandya was involved in both early wickets as New Zealand slipped to 112/6. Captain Mitchell Santner then dragged them past 150 with a late push, but the total always looked short.
India’s reply was brutal from the first ball. Openers went hard in the powerplay, racing to 94/2 inside six overs and completely flattening the chase.
Abhishek Sharma stole the show with a stunning 68 not out off just 20 balls. He brought up his fifty in only 14 balls, one of the fastest by an Indian in T20Is.
At the other end, Suryakumar Yadav continued his rich form, smashing an unbeaten 57 for his second straight fifty in the series.
There was a brief hiccup when Sanju Samson fell for a golden duck, but it hardly slowed India down. Ishan Kishan chipped in with a quick cameo as the hosts finished the chase in double-quick time.
