IND vs ENG: ‘Siraj Doesn’t Get Enough Credit’ – Morne Morkel
Morne Morkel says Mohammed Siraj doesn’t get enough credit for his efforts as India push for win vs England at Edgbaston.

India ended Day 4 of the second Test at Edgbaston in full control, with England at 72 for 3, chasing a massive 608-run target.
While Shubman Gill’s second hundred of the match grabbed the headlines, it was the Indian pace attack that once again stood tall.
Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep made the new ball talk under the Edgbaston lights, troubling England’s top order and keeping the pressure on the hosts.
Siraj dismissed Zak Crawley with a sharp outswinger, while Akash Deep removed Ben Duckett and Joe Root.
India now need just seven wickets on the final day to register their first-ever Test win at Edgbaston.
Meanwhile, India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel lauded Siraj and Akash Deep. After stumps, India’s bowling coach Morne Morkel praised the fast bowlers, especially Siraj, for putting in the hard yards.
“For me, Mohammed Siraj is a guy I have a lot of respect for,” Morkel said. “He wears his heart on his sleeve when he bowls. Sometimes he tries too hard, but we don’t give him enough credit. He does the dirty work for the team.”
On Akash Deep, Morkel added, “He’s an attacking bowler who always asks questions around the stumps. It’s great to see him charging in like that after his injury. Hopefully, he’ll watch that Joe Root wicket on his phone tonight.”
India declared their second innings at 427 for 6, with a lead of 608 runs. However, the timing of the declaration didn’t sit well with everyone. Some fans and experts felt India waited too long.
Still, with England three down and a huge target ahead, India will fancy their chances of finishing the job on Day 5.
