IND vs ENG: Shreyas Iyer Ruled Out of Remaining Three Tests Against England
Shreyas Iyer complained of stiff back and groin pain.
Team India faces another big blow ahead of their third test as their middle-order batter, Shreyas Iyer, has reported back pain, potentially sidelining him for the remainder of the series against England.
According to a report of The Indian Express, while the kits of the rest of the Indian players were transferred directly from Visakhapatnam to Rajkot for the upcoming third Test, Iyer’s equipment was sent to Mumbai, his hometown.
The Mumbai batter is expected to take a short break before initiating his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He had communicated his discomfort in the back and groin regions to the team management.
This break couldn’t have come at a worse time for Shreyas Iyer, who’s been struggling big time lately. He’s had a dry spell in his last 13 test innings, and despite his spin skills, he’s been a no-show against England in the first two tests.
