With this ton, Pant went past MS Dhoni to become the Indian wicketkeeper with the most Test centuries.

Dhoni had scored six centuries in his Test career, and that number stood untouched for over a decade until Pant overtook him with a fearless knock.

Most Test centuries by Indian wicketkeepers:

6 – MS Dhoni
3 – Wriddhiman Saha

The milestone moment came in style. Facing Shoaib Bashir in the 100th over of the innings, Pant danced down the track and hit a huge one-handed six over mid-wicket to bring up his century in just 146 balls.

The crowd erupted as Pant removed his helmet and celebrated with a somersault, a move now becoming his signature.

The Headingley crowd gave Pant a standing ovation a gesture that reflected not just appreciation for a century but respect for a special player rising on the big stage once again.
