IND vs ENG: Injury Concerns Mount for India as Star Pacer Hurt in Nets Ahead of Fourth Test Against England

India face injury worries ahead of Manchester Test as Arshdeep suffers hand injury, Pant recovers from finger issue.

India have been hit with back-to-back injury setbacks as they prepare for the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford next week. After Rishabh Pant’s finger injury during the third Test, pacer Arshdeep Singh has now joined the list of concerns.

Pant Recovering, Arshdeep Doubtful

Pant did not keep wickets at Lord’s after injuring his finger, with Dhruv Jurel stepping in behind the stumps. The team is hoping Pant recovers in time for the next match, but his condition remains under watch.

Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh injured his hand while trying to stop a ball during a practice session. His hand was heavily strapped, and he was taken to a doctor for treatment. India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate confirmed the injury and said that stitches might be needed.

“He was trying to stop a ball and suffered a cut. We have to see how bad the cut is. He has been taken to a doctor and if there is a need for stitches, we will have to plan his recovery in the next few days,” Doeschate said.

Bumrah and Siraj Under Workload Watch

The Indian team management is also considering resting Jasprit Bumrah to manage his workload. Mohammed Siraj has already bowled 109 overs across six innings in the series and is another player under observation.

Ten Doeschate praised Siraj’s commitment, calling him a lion-hearted bowler.

“The ongoing tour has been exciting as you get to see close contest on a daily basis. The guys have been working hard. Siraj is a like a lion. He doesn’t get wickets everytime but he gives his 100 percent. Siraj is not concerned about the workload. So it is important to keep him fit and in a best possible shape. We will take a call on our bowling combination as Arshdeep Singh is injured,” he added.

With Arshdeep’s availability in doubt and the need to manage Bumrah and Siraj carefully, India’s bowling attack for the fourth Test may see changes.
