IND vs ENG: Gautam Gambhir Brings KKR Star into India’s ODI Squad for England Series

Varun Chakravarthy has been added to India squad for ODI series.

Leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been added to India’s squad for the three-match ODI series against England after his impressive performance in the recently concluded T20I series.

Chakravarthy played a crucial role in India’s 4-1 T20I series win, picking up 14 wickets. His consistency in white-ball cricket, including an 18-wicket haul in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, has earned him a place in the 50-over format.

The 33-year-old mystery spinner is yet to make his ODI debut for India. However, his ability to trouble batters with his variations has made him a strong candidate for a spot in India’s Champions Trophy squad. With all teams allowed to make changes until February 12, his inclusion in the ODI squad suggests that he is being considered for the marquee event.

Chakravarthy joined the Indian squad for training on Tuesday, just two days before the ODI series opener. His addition strengthens India’s spin attack, which already includes Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar.
