IND vs ENG: Abhishek Sharma Smashes Highest Individual Score for India in T20Is

Abhishek Sharma now has the highest individual score to his name in T20Is for India.

Abhishek Sharma created history during India’s fifth T20I against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday, setting a new record for the highest individual score by an Indian in T20 Internationals.

Previously, the record was held by Shubman Gill, who had scored an unbeaten 126 off 63 balls against New Zealand on February 1, 2023. However, Abhishek shattered that record with a spectacular 135 runs off just 54 balls against England.

Abhishek’s record-breaking innings also included the second-fastest fifty and the second-fastest century by an Indian player in T20I cricket.

The 24-year-old southpaw’s knock came to an end when he was caught by Jofra Archer at deep extra cover off an Adil Rashid delivery. Along with his record-breaking score, Abhishek also hit 13 sixes, setting a new record for the most sixes in a single T20I innings by an Indian.
