IND vs ENG 3rd T20I: Varun Chakravarthy Leaves Bumrah Behind, Becomes First Indian Bowler to Achieve This Milestone

Varun Chakravarthy picked a five-wicket haul against England at Rajkot.

Varun Chakravarthy has added another achievement to his name during the ongoing T20I series against England. The mystery spinner became the first Indian bowler to pick 10 or more wickets in a T20I series not just once, but twice.

Varun achieved this rare feat during the third T20I against England in Rajkot, where he picked up a sensational 5-wicket haul. He had earlier accomplished this milestone in a series against South Africa in 2024. No other Indian bowler, not even Jasprit Bumrah, has managed to achieve this double.

Varun first picked 10 wickets in a T20I series during India’s tour of South Africa in 2024. He was instrumental in India’s success during that series, with his mystery spin troubling the South African batters.

Now, in the ongoing 2025 series against England, Varun Chakravarthy has repeated the magic. Across the three matches so far, he has taken 10 wickets, including a 5-wicket haul in Rajkot. There are still two matches left in the series.
