IND vs BAN: Shubman Gill to Sit Out Bangladesh T20Is for Workload Management
Shubman Gill is likely to be rested for three-match T20I series against Bangladesh.
India’s young batting sensation, Shubman Gill, is set to be rested for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, starting from October 7. This decision aligns with the BCCI’s workload management policy for players.
The Indian cricket team is scheduled to play a total of 10 Test matches in the upcoming season, and Shubman Gill, the number three batsman for Team India, is expected to play in all of them. Therefore, proper rest will be crucial for him.
“Yes, Shubman will be rested for the Bangladesh T20I series. If you look at the fixtures, the three T20Is will be played on October 7 (Gwalior), 10 (Delhi), and 13 (Hyderabad). The first Test against New Zealand starts on October 16.
“So, with a turnaround of just three days, it is important to give Gill a break,” a BCCI source told PTI on the condition of anonymity.
