Imran Khan Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Imran Khan has been sentenced to 10 years in jail.

Former Pakistan captain, Imran Khan has received a 10-year prison term for allegedly disclosing state secrets during his stint as the Prime Minister of the nation, as announced by his political party PTI on social media platform X this Tuesday.

Having risen from cricket captain to Pakistan’s prime minister in 2018, Imran Khan, now 71, was ousted by political adversaries in 2022. Following his arrest in May 2023, he is currently serving a three-year jail sentence due to a corruption conviction.

Over a career spanning more than two decades, Imran played 88 Test matches, amassing 3807 runs at an average of 37.69, including 18 fifties and six centuries. As a bowler, he claimed 362 wickets at an average of 22.81.

Born in Lahore, the cricketer’s ODI career spanned 175 matches, where he scored 3709 runs at an average of 33.41, including 19 fifties and a solitary hundred. He also picked up 182 wickets at an average of 26.62.
