Harsha Bhogle Picks His ODI Team of the Decade

Harsha Bhogle didn't pick any Indian bowlers in his ODI XI of the decade.

As ICC, on Sunday announced the ODI, T20I and Test teams of the decade, many cricket experts and analysts are also coming forward with their teams of the decade. Meanwhile Harsha Bhogle, the renowned cricket journalist also picked his ODI team of the decade.

For openers, Bhogle went with Rohit Sharma and David Warner. Both of the batsmen has impressed many in the last 10 years. Rohit notched as many as three double centuries with a top score of 264 against Sri Lanka. He also got five tons in the 2019 World Cup.

In the middle over, Bhogle picked current Indian skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. No doubt why he went with these two veteran batsmen. While, Virat Kohli has been the most successful player in the last 10 years, de Villiers on the other hand is no less than his RCB teammate and friend. Although de Villiers took retirement back in 2018, the netizens reckon that he has enough potential to make an international comeback and weave his magic at the highest level.

For all-rounders, he went with Ben Stokes and Shakib Al Hasan. Ben Stokes had done exceptionally good in the last ten years. For wicket-keeper, Bhogle went with former Indian skipper and legend MS Dhoni, who took retirement from International Cricket on August 15 this year.

Dhoni won the 50-over World Cup in 2011 playing a crucial knock of 91* in the final against Sri Lanka and also won the Champions Trophy two years later in England.

For the bowling attack, he picked three fast bowlers in his ODI team: New Zealand’s Trent Boult, Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga and Australia’s Mitchell Starc. As the sole specialist spinner, he picked Rashid Khan, who has been a revelation at a young age and is one of the hottest picks.
