Harbhajan Singh Backs Hardik Pandya for T20 World Cup 2024 Amidst Divorce Rumours
Hardik Pandya has already joined the team in USA.
Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has backed all-rounder Hardik Pandya and expressed confidence in his ability to deliver for Team India at the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and USA.
Harbhajan believes Pandya transforms into a different player when donning the national team colours. He acknowledged Pandya’s recent struggles, particularly during his stint as captain of the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024, where the team finished last.
Hardik Pandya‘s individual performance also fell short, with underwhelming batting and bowling numbers. Despite these concerns, Harbhajan remains optimistic about Baroda’s all-rounder to come out stronger in the biennial tournament.
“When he wears that blue jersey, he will be a different Hardik Pandya,” Harbhajan stated to PTI. “We know he can score those runs and take those wickets.”
“If he has a good tournament, obviously India will have a great chance to go forward.”
Hardik Pandya has joined the Indian team in New York and he will be playing their only warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1st. The tournament kicks off for India on June 5th against Ireland at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York.
