“Fails Every Time Against Pakistan”- Ex-Cricketer’s Ruthless Criticism of Suryakumar Yadav
Ex-Pakistan star Bazid Khan slams Suryakumar Yadav’s poor record vs Pakistan, says India will miss Jadeja more than Kohli, Rohit.
The countdown to the Asia Cup 2025 has already picked up steam, and the India-Pakistan rivalry is heating up even before a ball is bowled.
Former Pakistan batter Bazid Khan has taken a dig at India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav, questioning his record against the Men in Green.
So far, Suryakumar has faced Pakistan five times in T20Is, managing only 64 runs at an average of 12.80 and a strike rate of 118.50.
His best score is just 18, a record that Bazid believes Pakistan can use to their advantage when the two sides meet on September 14 in Dubai.
“Suryakumar scores runs against almost everyone, but somehow, against Pakistan, he hasn’t been effective. Whether it is the pace attack or some other reason, it remains an issue,” Bazid said on the Game On Hai show.
Bazid Khan: India Will Miss Jadeja the Most
This will be India’s first big T20 tournament without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja, all of whom retired from the format after lifting the T20 World Cup in 2024.
Bazid believes that while the team will miss Kohli and Rohit’s intensity, Jadeja’s absence could hurt even more.
“Look, all these players are high-class. But the high intensity that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma brought to the game, that is something India will surely miss. The absence of Ravindra Jadeja is also an issue. Axar Patel might be there, but Jadeja was exceptional in fielding as well,” Bazid explained.
Suryakumar Yadav will lead India with Shubman Gill as his deputy. Big names like Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been left out, though both enjoyed excellent IPL campaigns.
