England Name 17-Man Squad for Pakistan Test Series

Ben Stokes is back as England’s captain for the Pakistan Test series.

Ben Stokes has been announced fit and he will lead the England cricket team on their tour to Pakistan. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed a 17-player squad for the three Test matches, which are part of the WTC cycle.

Alongside Stokes, Zak Crawley is back in the squad after missing the Sri Lanka Test series with a finger injury. As the tour is in the subcontinent, spin bowling will be crucial, and England have reinforced their spin attack.

Shoaib Bashir will lead the spin department, aided by veteran Jack Leach and Rehan Ahmed, the latter debuting in Pakistan a few years back.

The squad also includes two uncapped players, Jordan Cox and Brydon Carse. Carse is a new face in the evolving seam bowling unit, which will be headed by Chris Woakes in Mark Wood’s absence due to an elbow stress fracture.

Other seamers in the squad alongside Carse and Woakes are Josh Hull, Gus Atkinson, Matthew Potts, and Olly Stone.
