ENG vs IND: Jasprit Bumrah Traps Moeen Ali In Front But No Indian Player Appeals -Watch
England ended with 290 and led India by 99 runs at the end of day 2 of the ongoing fourth test match.
Moeen Ali was one of the major contributors for England in the first innings as they went on to post 290 runs to give 99 run lead to India. Ali, who came to bat at number 8 went on to add 35 runs from 71 deliveries and frustrated Indian bowlers to an extent.
However, these 35 runs knock could have been cut short if Indian players would have been more alert and appealed at the right time. On the 5th ball of the 60th over of England’s innings, Moeen Ali was trapped on the pads by Bumrah. However, none of the Indian players appealed as they thought the ball was hitting on the bat first.
Later, replays confirmed that the ball didn’t make any contact with the bat, and would have smashed the stumps.
After that, it took India 7 overs to dismiss him when the left-hander tried to slog it away towards mid-wicket but skewed it to Rohit Sharma at covers. However, by then, the damage was done, as Moeen Ali went on to stitch a 71-run partnership with Ollie Pope in 121 balls.
