‘Embarrassing’ – Wasim Akram Reacts To Empty Karachi Stadium During Eliminator Game in PSL 2024
Wasim Akram expressed his disappointment, labeling the absence of spectators in the eliminator game of PSL 2024 as embarrassing
The eliminator of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 was played between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators on Friday, March 15 at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.
The Shadab Khan-led Islamabad United defeated the Gladiators by 39 runs to secure a place in the second eliminator of the tournament alongside Peshawar Zalmi.
However, something that looked very strange was that there was no big audience present at the stadium to celebrate Islamabad United’s victory, as the entire stadium remained silent throughout the game.
Former Pakistan cricketer and legend Wasim Akram did not like this and did not mince words, calling it embarrassing not to have spectators in such a big game of the Pakistan Super League 2024.
“It was embarrassing to see no crowd in Karachi. There was no crowd, literally no crowd for last night’s match,” Wasim Akram remarked during an interview with A Sports.
This was not the case when the PSL 2024 matches were held in Lahore, Multan, and even Rawalpindi, where the stadiums were full and fans were cheering. However, the situation was entirely different in Karachi.
