Durban Super Giants Sign Jos Buttler, Sunil Narine, and Noor Ahmad Ahead of SA20 2025-26 Season
Jos Buttler, Sunil Narine, Noor Ahmad join Durban’s Super Giants for SA20 2025-26; league starts Dec 26

Durban’s Super Giants have made some big moves ahead of the SA20 2025-26 season, signing three exciting international players Jos Buttler, Sunil Narine, and Noor Ahmad.
Jos Buttler has made the switch from Paarl Royals to Durban’s Super Giants. The England white-ball star will now be seen opening the innings for DSG.
Sunil Narine, the experienced West Indies all-rounder, will also be part of the franchise for the first time. Narine brings vast experience in T20 leagues around the world, including the IPL.
Noor Ahmad, the young Afghan spinner, returns to Durban after a strong season earlier this year. He was the team’s leading wicket-taker in SA20 Season 3 and played a crucial role with the ball in the middle overs.
Interestingly, all three players were involved in the Indian Premier League 2025 recently. Buttler played for Gujarat Titans, Narine starred for Kolkata Knight Riders, and Noor Ahmad was part of the Chennai Super Kings setup.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Eastern Cape have added AM Ghazanfar, the teenage Afghan spinner, to their squad. He was earlier picked by Mumbai Indians for IPL 2025 but had to pull out due to injury.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape, with two titles, remain the most successful team in SA20 history. MI Cape Town are the current champions. However, teams like Durban’s Super Giants, Joburg Super Kings, Pretoria Capitals, and Paarl Royals are still waiting for their first title win.
The fourth edition of SA20 will begin on 26 December 2025. The organisers have confirmed that more details about fixtures, player signings, and the auction will be announced soon.
