DPL 2024: Rishabh Pant Slammed for His Slow and Sluggish Knock Against South Delhi Superstarz
Rishabh Pant scored 35 runs from 32 balls.
Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper for the Indian cricket team, made 35 runs off 32 deliveries for Purani Dilli 6 in their Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2024 match against South Delhi Superstarz on Saturday.
Rishabh Pant, however, seemed uncomfortable facing spin and couldn’t display his natural, boundary-hitting game, which invited a fair amount of criticism for the Purani Dillip keeper batter.
Pant performed well at the T20 World Cup 2024, but fans were disappointed that he couldn’t deliver big innings, as there were high expectations for him to score heavily at the top of the order.
Social media was flooded with fans voicing their frustration over Rishabh Pant’s sluggish innings.
Who won the match?
Purani Dilli, however, managed to put up 197 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets, largely due to the outstanding knocks by Arpit Rana (59 off 41) and Vansh Bedi (47 off 19).
However, it wasn’t enough, as South Delhi Superstarz chased down the target in 19.1 overs. Despite a mid-innings collapse, their captain Aayush Badoni’s brilliant 57 off 29 balls, along with Priyansh Arya’s 57 off 30 and Sarthak Ray’s 41 off 26, ensured a three-wicket victory.
