Delhi Capitals’ 4 Crore Signing Ruled Out of IPL 2024

Delhi Capitals secured the services of Harry Brook for INR 4 crores for the IPL 2024

In a significant blow for the Delhi Capitals, their high-value player, Harry Brook, has withdrawn from the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season citing personal reasons.

Delhi Capitals secured the services of Harry Brook for INR 4 crores in the IPL 2024 mini auction held in December last year. This would have been the second season for an English batter.

Apart from the IPL, Harry Brook was also missing from the recent England Test series in India, withdrawing suddenly with the request for privacy from both the England team management and the ECB.

“The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. In light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space,” stated the ECB in a January release.

Harry Brook Ruled Out of IPL 2024

Harry Brook fell short of expectations in his inaugural IPL season with Sunrisers Hyderabad, as he could only manage 190 runs despite playing the entire season after the franchise spent a whopping 13.5 crores on him.

Delhi Capitals will now be scouting for a replacement for Harry Brook in the upcoming IPL 2024 season. The tournament is scheduled to commence on March 22, featuring a clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk.
