Colin Munro Smashes First Century Of CPL 2025 As Trinbago Knight Riders Post 231
Colin Munro hit the first century of CPL 2025, powering Trinbago Knight Riders to 231/5 against St Kitts Patriots.
Trinbago Knight Riders lit up the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 with a power-packed batting show against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Sunday. The star of the evening was Colin Munro, who hammered the first century of this season and took his team to a huge total.
Munro played one of the finest T20 knocks, smashing 120 runs from just 57 balls. His innings was filled with 14 fours and 6 sixes, and he batted with complete control. The left-hander eventually fell in the 19th over, but not before putting the Knight Riders in command.
Alex Hales gave Munro strong support at the top. The English opener blasted 47 off 27 balls, setting the stage for the carnage. Captain Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard chipped in with quick runs, but it was Munro’s show all the way.
By the end of 20 overs, Trinbago Knight Riders had piled up 231 for 5, scoring at over 11 runs per over. Keacy Carty finished unbeaten on 16 from just 8 balls, while Terrance Hinds also added a late boundary.
For the Patriots, the bowlers had a night to forget. Jason Holder and Waqar Salamkheil were the only ones to make some impact, picking up two wickets each. Dominic Drakes got one, while the rest went wicketless as the Knight Riders’ batters dominated from start to finish.
The Patriots will now need a record chase if they are to stay alive in this contest. With a strong batting line-up featuring Andre Fletcher, Kyle Mayers and Rilee Rossouw, they still have hope, but the Knight Riders will be confident after such a commanding display.
