Shimron Hetmyer’s Heroics in Vain

Khulna Tigers, batting first, posted 163/6 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant knock by Shimron Hetmyer, who scored 63 off 33 balls, smashing six fours and four sixes. He received some support from Mahidul Islam Ankon (41 off 32 balls), but wickets at regular intervals prevented Khulna from putting up a bigger total. Binura Fernando (2/27) and Aliss Al Islam (1/14) were the standout bowlers for Chittagong Kings.

Chittagong’s Chase: A Rollercoaster Ride

Chasing 164, Khawaja Nafay (57 off 46 balls) and Hussain Talat (40 off 25 balls) provided a solid foundation for Chittagong Kings. However, regular wickets kept the game in balance. With four runs needed off the final delivery, Aliss Al Islam (17 off 7 balls) held his nerve and smashed a boundary to take his team over the line.

For Khulna Tigers, Musfik Hasan (3/32) and Hasan Mahmud (3/34) tried their best to defend the target, but Chittagong held their composure in the end to clinch a thrilling victory. With this win, they march into the BPL 2025 final, where they will face Fortune Barishal in the title clash.
