BCCI Names Replacement for Injured Ruturaj Gaikwad in South Africa Test Series

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the Sourh Africa Test series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will miss the rest of the South Africa series, as confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an official statement on December 23. Abhimanyu Easwaran is set to step in as his replacement.

BCCI attributed Ruturaj Gaikwad’s exclusion from the squad to an injury in his right ring finger sustained while fielding in the second ODI against South Africa in Gqeberha.

Following scans and expert consultation, the BCCI Medical Team has ruled Ruturaj Gaikwad out of the remaining tour. Gaikwad will report to the NCA for further injury management.
