BCCI Announces Major Venue Changes for India vs South Africa 2025 Test Series
BCCI shifts India’s 2025 home matches: Delhi, Kolkata, Rajkot to host key games; women’s ODIs moved from Chennai
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a few venue changes ahead of Team India’s upcoming home season in October-November 2025.
The schedule includes matches against West Indies and South Africa in multiple formats, along with fixtures for the India Women’s and India A teams.
India vs West Indies Tests – Second Match Moved To Delhi
Team India will begin their home season with a Test series against the West Indies, starting on 2nd October 2025 in Ahmedabad.
The second match of the series, which was earlier supposed to be held in Kolkata, has now been shifted to Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, and will be played on 14th October.
India vs South Africa Test – Shifted From Delhi To Kolkata
The BCCI has also changed the venue for the first Test against South Africa. Initially scheduled at Delhi, the match will now be hosted by Eden Gardens in Kolkata, starting on 14th November 2025. This swap comes as part of logistical and scheduling adjustments, while the rest of the series schedule remains unchanged.
Changes In India Women’s ODI Series Against Australia
There is also a reshuffle in the women’s calendar. The India Women vs Australia Women ODI series, which was originally set to be held in Chennai, has been moved due to renovation work at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The first two ODIs will now be played at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, while the final ODI will be held in Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
India A vs South Africa A Venue Change
The BCCI also confirmed a minor change in the venue for the India A vs South Africa A one-day games.
The two four-day matches will go on as planned at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, but the three one-day matches, which were scheduled at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, will now take place at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
With these adjustments, the BCCI aims to ensure smooth scheduling and top-quality playing conditions across venues, as India gears up for a busy and exciting home season across all levels.
