According to Revsportz, Samson appeared to be limping while facing throwdowns from the support staff. The Kerala batter was also seen in visible pain, raising concerns over his fitness ahead of the tournament.

Samson has been in strong form in T20Is, scoring three centuries in his last 10 innings. He has built a solid partnership with Abhishek Sharma at the top. However, with Shubman Gill returning to the squad, his place in the playing XI has come under scrutiny.

The injury scare did not last long. Samson returned to the nets after a short break and began striking the ball cleanly. He hit a series of sixes, easing worries for Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav.
