Babar Azam Names the Most Difficult Bowler He Has Faced in His Career

Babar Azam named the greatest fear of his life.

Pakistan’s batting star and white-ball captain, Babar Azam, has recently revealed his picks for the toughest bowlers in modern cricket. In a surprising turn of events, Azam left out young Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah and instead picked the Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in his list.

During a candid conversation with former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja, Babar Azam named Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, Mark Wood, and Mitchell Starc as the most challenging bowlers he has faced internationally.

Babar Azam ranked Pat Cummins as the toughest bowler, praising his exceptional ability to outsmart batters with precision, consistency, and strategic bowling.

Here’s what the Babar Azam said:

“Pat Cummins won’t give you a loose ball. He understands how to dismiss a batsman with specific deliveries and areas. He traps you, mentally challenges you, and tests your technique to the limit.”

On the other hand, Babar Azam recently led Pakistan to a thrilling 2-1 T20I series win over Ireland. After dropping the first match, Pakistan bounced back with consecutive victories, securing the series in Dublin on May 14th.

During the final match, Azam played a crucial role in Pakistan’s 6-wicket win, scoring a brilliant 75 runs off 42 deliveries, becoming the batter with the most T20I fifties (39), surpassing Virat Kohli’s record of 38. He also became the most successful captain in T20 internationals.
