Babar Azam Accused of Using ChatGPT to Extend Labour Day Wishes

Babar Azam has been accused of using ChatGPT for writing the Labour Day wishes.

Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Babar Azam, recently found himself in hot water after his Labour Day tweet appeared to be plagiarized from ChatGPT.

The tweet, which read “It is time to reopen our commitment to make sure safe and fair working conditions for all. They are the backbone of our society and deserve much more appreciation. #LabourDay,” was met with a viral response which shows a picture where the message seemed to be directly copied from the AI chatbot.

This incident has drawn criticism towards Babar Azam, with many mocking his inability to articulate an original tweet.

Babar Azam was recently re-appointed as the captain of the Pakistan white-ball team. However, it wasn’t a great start for his tenure as they lost a five-match series against a second-string New Zealand side.

The five-match T20 series ended in a 2-2 draw, with the first match washed out. Pakistan experimented with various combinations throughout the series to test their bench strength before the T20 World Cup 2024.

Babar Azam’s personal performance was lacklustre as he could only manage 125 runs in four matches at a strike rate of 138.
