Once settled, Kohli found his rhythm and went on to make an unbeaten 74. Alongside Rohit, he shared their first century stand in any format since January 2020. Earlier, Australia were bowled out for 236 in 46.4 overs. Captain Mitchell Marsh’s decision to bat first backfired as the middle order crumbled. Harshit Rana was India’s standout bowler, claiming 4 for 39, while Matt Renshaw top-scored for Australia with a steady 56.
Kohli’s innings not only helped seal victory but also took him past Kumar Sangakkara to become the second-highest run-getter in ODI history.
