Asia Cup 2025: Who Won Yesterday’s Pakistan vs Bangladesh Match?
Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf fired Pakistan past Bangladesh to set up a historic Asia Cup 2025 final against India.
Pakistan stormed into the Asia Cup 2025 final after an 11-run win over Bangladesh in Dubai on Thursday. The result sets up a mouthwatering clash against India on Sunday, the first time both sides will meet in an Asia Cup final.
Pakistan Struggle With the Bat
Bangladesh bowlers kept Pakistan under control, limiting them to 135 for 8 in 20 overs. At one stage, Pakistan were reeling at 47 for 4, before Mohammad Haris (31 off 23) and Mohammad Nawaz (25 off 15) provided much-needed runs in the middle overs.
Shaheen Afridi played a quick cameo of 19 from 13 balls, smashing two sixes, while Faheem Ashraf added 14 not out to push Pakistan to a fighting total.
For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 28, reaching 100 T20I wickets in the process. Mahedi Hasan (2 for 28) and Rishad Hossain (2 for 18) also struck at key moments.
Shaheen and Rauf Seal the Game
Defending a modest target, Shaheen Afridi gave Pakistan the perfect start. He dismissed Parvez Hossain Emon and Towhid Hridoy inside the powerplay, leaving Bangladesh on the backfoot. Haris Rauf then joined in, sending back Saif Hassan for 18 with a sharp delivery.
Bangladesh kept losing wickets regularly. Spinners Mohammad Nawaz (1 for 14) and Saim Ayub (2 for 16) kept things tight in the middle overs.
Shaheen finished with 3 for 17, while Rauf destroyed Bangladesh’s lower order by removing Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Taskin Ahmed in the same over. He held his nerve in the final over to end with 3 wickets.
Bangladesh could only manage 124 for 9, falling short by 11 runs. With this win, Pakistan now face arch-rivals India in a historic Asia Cup final that promises high drama and intensity.
