Asia Cup 2025: Arshdeep Singh Left Out As India Reveals Playing XI For Pakistan
India unlikely to change XI against Pakistan; Arshdeep Singh set to miss Asia Cup 2025 clash, says coach.
India are set for a high-voltage clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup on Sunday. Ahead of the game, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate indicated that the Men in Blue are unlikely to change their playing XI.
No Changes Expected For Pakistan Clash
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Ten Doeschate dismissed speculation about any surprises in India’s line-up. “We are unlikely to make any changes,” he said, confirming that Arshdeep Singh will probably sit out again.
Arshdeep, India’s most successful T20I bowler, was left out of the opener against UAE in favor of extra batting and all-round options.
India went with three multi-dimensional players, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, and two specialist spinners, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav, while prioritizing batting depth over an extra pacer.
India’s Focus On Batting Strength
With Arshdeep sidelined, India are expected to stick to five specialist batters, including Sanju Samson as wicketkeeper, three all-rounders, and three bowlers, Bumrah, Chakravarthy, and Kuldeep.
Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek Sharma, and Tilak Varma will be key in anchoring the innings.
Based on Ten Doeschate’s comments, India’s probable XI against Pakistan is:
Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson (WK), Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav.
