Asia Cup 2023: ‘Humare pass Nassem, Shaheen, Haris nahi hai…’ – Rohit Sharma’s Big Remark on Pakistan Bowling Ahead of IND vs PAK Clash
Indian captain Rohit Sharma highlighted Pakistan's bowlers' consistent performance, often outshining the Indian batters on the eve of the India-Pakistan match
Team India will commence its Asia Cup 2023 campaign with a match against arch-rivals Pakistan, scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 2nd at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
Both teams feature strong bowling lineups, with India fielding a trio of Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Jasprit Bumrah, while Pakistan boasts a speedy bowling attack with Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf.
Historically, Pakistan’s bowlers have often outperformed Indian batters, leading to the perception that the Men in Green has the edge in the bowling department. Indian captain Rohit Sharma weighed in on this on the eve of the India-Pakistan match.
On being asked about how Rohit Sharma and the other Indian batters are going to combat the blazing pace of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah, here’s what Rohit conceded:
“Net me humare pass Naseem, Shaheen, Haris toh hai nahi. Humre pass jo bowlers hai hum unko hi lekar practice krte. Itne salon se khel rahe hai, hume bss wo experience k sath unke samne khelna hai.
[Translation: We don’t have Shaheen, Naseem and Rauf in the nets. We practice with what we have. All three are quality bowlers. Pakistan always had quality bowlers. We have seen their strengths and weakness. Will use our experience vs them,” Rohit Sharma said.
Rohit Sharma boasts a brilliant rack record against Pakistan in ODIs, and once again, the bar of expectations will be sky-high as India faces Pakistan. Alongside Rohit, the contributions of Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer will be pivotal for Team India.
