Ravi Bishnoi was also announced as the third draft pick for the new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants with a Rs 4 crore contract for IPL 2022.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced an 18-member squad for the white-ball series against West Indies on Wednesday which saw 21-years old Ravi Bishnoi receiving a maiden call-up.
Bishnoi was also announced as the third draft pick for the new Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Lucknow Super Giants with a Rs 4 crore contract for IPL 2022.
After getting picked for the national squad for the upcoming home series against West Indies, Bishnoi gave a special thanks to former India coach Anil Kumble who helped him during his time at Punjab Kings.
“It has been an interesting journey and it is a great honour to don the India colours. It is a proud moment for me and it feels great to see your dream come true,” Bishnoi was quoted as saying by Sportstar after the team announcement.
“I was waiting for my opportunity. I was preparing myself for the big league and was keeping myself ready so that I can give my hundred percent whenever an opportunity comes my way. My only aim was to keep performing and then wait for my turn,” Bishnoi said.

Bishnoi recalled how Anil Kumble helped him along the way. He remembers Anil Kumble’s advice on how to execute his plans freely and hopes to follow them.
“I have learned a lot from Anil sir, and those lessons have helped me in becoming a better cricketer. He would always guide me on how to back myself and never lose hope under pressure. Those things were of immense help…”.
“He always told me to play to my strengths. The advice was that I should stick to my basics and just execute the plans. There was no experiment. He gave me the confidence to play freely,” Bishnoi added.
Bishnoi has taken 24 wickets in 23 IPL games at an economy rate of 6.95 runs per over for Punjab Kings in two seasons. Bishnoi said that he was waiting as well as preparing himself for this opportunity and hoped to grab his chance.
