AB de Villiers Unleashes RCB Mode, Slams 39-Ball Century Against Australia in WCL 2025
AB de Villiers smashes 39-ball century vs Australia in WCL 2025, powers South Africa to massive total with 123 off 46 balls.
AB de Villiers rolled back the years in stunning fashion as he smashed a 39-ball century against Australia Champions in the ongoing World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025.
Playing for South Africa Champions, the former Proteas captain showed he still has plenty of firepower left. His breathtaking knock lit up the game and left the Aussies searching for answers.
AB’s Brutal Hundred Rocks Australia
The fireworks began in the 13th over, just when Australia were still hunting for their first wicket. De Villiers, along with JJ Smuts, took the game away with a stormy partnership.
De Villiers reached his hundred with ease, hammering 11 fours and 7 sixes. It was his second century in the tournament, and this one came in just 39 balls.
In his previous match, he had already scored a 51-ball 116* against England Champions. That form carried over into this match as he tore through Australia’s attack.
He finally fell for 123 off just 46 balls, with Peter Siddle getting the breakthrough. But by then, the damage was done.
Proteas Post Massive Total
After de Villiers got out, JP Duminy walked in and scored a quick 16 off 9 before falling. Morne van Wyk then joined Smuts in the middle.
At the time of writing, South Africa Champions were 224 for 2 in 17 overs. Smuts remained unbeaten on 74, and van Wyk was on 3.
De Villiers may have left the crease, but his knock has already set up the game for South Africa.
