Aakash Chopra Predicts 600-Run Season for Rohit Sharma Ahead of IPL 2024

Former Indian cricket luminary Aakash Chopra has expressed high expectations for Rohit Sharma, the former captain of Mumbai Indians, regarding the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Rohit Sharma has long been the batting linchpin for Mumbai Indians, yet unlike his counterparts such as Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, he has yet to produce a truly stellar IPL season with the bat for the five-time champions.

Rohit Sharma Never Scored 600-Runs in IPL Season: Aakash Chopra

Even though Rohit Sharma hasn’t breached the 600-run milestone in any IPL season, Aakash Chopra predicts that the 2024 edition could be different, especially now that he’s unburdened from the captaincy duties at Mumbai Indians.

Here’s what Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel:

“I want to move towards Mumbai now. Firstly, you have released Rohit Sharma from captaincy duties. When we talk about a top-class player like Rohit Sharma, we say that a 600-run season will be there for sure. However, he has never had a 600-run season. This could be that season.”

Notably, Rohit Sharma, who has led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles, has been removed from the captaincy ahead of IPL 2024, with Hardik Pandya appointed as the new captain of the team.
