Romario Shepherd, the West Indies all-rounder who lit up IPL 2025 with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, pulled off a surreal feat in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025.
Playing for Guyana Amazon Warriors, Shepherd smashed 22 runs in a single delivery against St Lucia Kings, leaving fans stunned. Walking in at No.7, Shepherd hammered 73 off just 34 balls.
The drama unfolded in the 15th over when Oshane Thomas lost control completely. His sequence, 1nb, 1w, 7nb, 7nb, 6, resulted in 22 runs being tallied from one legal delivery, a rare sight in professional cricket.
Despite Shepherd’s heroics, his innings went in vain as St Lucia Kings chased down 203 in just 18.1 overs, winning by four wickets. Ackeem Auguste stole the spotlight for the Kings with a match-winning 73 off 35 balls, hitting six fours and four sixes to earn the Player of the Match award.
This wasn’t Shepherd’s only explosive knock in the season. Earlier, he smashed an unbeaten 25 off just eight balls against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, a match where veteran spinner Imran Tahir bagged five wickets to power Guyana to a massive 83-run win.
The 30-year-old all-rounder has quickly become one of CPL 2025’s biggest entertainers, carrying forward his dazzling IPL form into West Indies’ premier league.
