Franchise Owner Urges PCB To Change Schedule of PSL 2024: Report
PSL 2024 will open with a thrilling encounter between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United on February 17
According to reports, a Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise owner has asked the PCB to consider changing the schedule of the tournament, citing clashes with concurrent cricket competitions that have prompted international players to withdraw from the PSL.
The ninth edition of the PSL is facing a challenge in international player involvement due to restrictions enforced by multiple cricket boards. All six teams are facing difficulties, as players opt for T20 leagues like SA20 and the IPL instead of the PSL.
“The SA20 ended recently and the ILT20 concludes on the day the PSL begins, so it is getting difficult to sign big players now,” the franchise owner said on condition of anonymity.
“There is an acute need to change the PSL window, or else it will lose its charm if we don’t get big overseas names,” he further added.
PSL 2024 will open with a thrilling encounter between Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, the defending champions, at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on February 17. The tournament will wrap up with the ultimate face off at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium on March 18.
