IPL 2020: Rashid Khan Has Dedicated His “Man of the Match” Award to His Late Parents

In the 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2020) played in Abu Dhabi, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 15 runs on Tuesday. Chasing Hyderabad’s target of 163 runs, the Delhi team could only manage 147 runs in their 20 overs losing 7 wickets. This is the Sunrisers’ first win in this tournament, while Delhi has suffered their first defeat.

Rashid Khan Got Emotional

Leg-spinner Rashid Khan’s superb bowling has played an important role in Sunrisers’ victory. Rashid has bowled 4 overs in which he just gave 14 runs and took 3 wickets. For this fabulous performance, he was given the man of the match award. Rashid Khan has dedicated this award to his late parents.

“Tough one and a half year. First lost my dad, then my mom 3-4 months ago. She was my biggest fan. This award goes to them. When I used to win an award, whole night she used to talk to me”, said Rashid in the post-match presentation.

On today’s bowling he said that he doesn’t take the pressure and remains cool, he just focuses on what he has to do and enjoy the game.

“I think I don’t take pressure on myself that I have to create an impact. I keep calm and cool and focused on what I have to do. I look to do the basics right, and enjoy the game”, the 22-year-old said.

Further on David Warner, he said that he always back him and trust him.

“The captain always backs me, and he tells me you know better. So he tells me, let me know what you want”, said Rashid Khan.

“We worked hard on death bowling”: David Warner

David Warner hailed Abhishek Sharma for his fantastic bowling skills. He said that they have worked hard in terms of Death bowling.

“Young Abhishek bowled really well. We worked really hard on our death bowling, and today they were all fantastic”, said SRH captain.

Warner also mentioned the running between the wickets with Jonny Bairstow.

“We pride ourselves on our running between the wickets. If we are not getting boundaries, we run hard”, he added.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will now lock horns with Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on October 2nd.
