In chase of a target score of 143, KKR had a slow start and experienced their first loss as Sunil Narine. Soon after Narine, Star all-rounder Rashid Khan sent KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik back to the pavilion. However, Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana then formed a quick partnership and bought match back to their side. Rana played a brilliant inning of 26 runs off just 13 balls before Natarajan dismissed the KKR batsman off a brilliant delivery, leaving KKR on 53/3.

Eoin Morgan then came in and used his experience to bring the game on their side. He formed a match-winning partnership of 92 runs. Gill was the star man of the day, as the youngster played a wonderful inning and smashed 70* off just 62 deliveries. Both Gill (70) and Morgan (42) stayed unbeaten in the end and guided KKR to 145/3 to win the match by 7 wickets.

Shubman Gill is also awarded ‘Man of the Match’ for his match-winning knock of 70* off 62 deliveries.
