PAK vs ENG: Ben Stokes to donate entire match fees from Test series to Pakistan flood victims
Ben Stokes announced that he would be donating his match fees from the entire series to the Pakistan flood victims.
England Test captain Ben Stokes has decided to donate his entire match fees from the three-match Test series against Pakistan to the ones impacted by the devastating flood in Pakistan.
This is the first time in 17 years that England have visited Pakistan and the much-anticipated three-match Test series will be a part of the ongoing World Test Championship 2022-23 cycle.
The star English all-rounder took to Twitter to confirm the development, stating he would be donating his entire match fees from the three-match Test series to the Pakistan flood appeal.
“I’m donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal,” Stokes wrote on Twitter.
Here’s what England Test captain said in his statement:
“It is great to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. To be back here after 17 years as a Test side is very exciting. There is a sense of responsibility amongst the playing and support group and to be there is special. The floods that devastated Pakistan earlier this year were very sad to see and have had a significant impact on the country and the people,” he added.
“The game has given me a lot in my life and I feel it’s only right to give something back that goes far beyond cricket. I will be donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan flood appeal. Hopefully this donation can go towards the rebuilding of areas of Pakistan most affected by the flooding,” he added.
England will play three Test matches vs Pakistan that starts on December 1 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The second Test match will be played from December 9 in Multan while the third Test will be hosted by Karchi from December 17 to 21.
