New Zealand Cricket said the injury was unfortunate and that the team was gutted for the all-rounder. The board added that his recovery and safe return to the field remain the main priorities.
The board also addressed concerns about the promotional shoot, saying all activities had been agreed upon in advance, with appropriate safety measures in place. It described the incident as a freak accident and said it would review its processes for future events.
New Zealand have a packed schedule ahead, with five T20Is, five ODIs and two Tests against India running through November. The team is also preparing for a heavy workload of Test cricket over the next six months.
With that schedule in mind, the management does not want to rush Ravindra back before he is ready. The all-rounder is receiving rehabilitation support, and the team hopes to welcome him back once he has recovered.
