The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has called white-ball head coach Mike Hesson to London to help the Test team during the rest of their England tour.
Pakistan are under pressure after a poor start to the Test series. They lost the first Test at Leeds by an innings and 103 runs before their batting collapsed again at Lord’s.
Pakistan were bowled out for just 110 in their first innings of the second Test. The team struggled to deal with England’s bowling and failed to build a strong partnership at the top of the order.
England finished Day 2 at 81/3 in their second innings, giving them an overall lead of 261 runs. Pakistan now face a tough task to stay in the match and avoid another heavy defeat.
Hesson, who leads Pakistan’s white-ball setup, has been brought in to support the red-ball coaching staff. His presence is aimed at helping the team deal with its batting problems and find a way back into the series.
The move comes at a difficult time for Pakistan, with their batting showing serious concerns across the first two Tests. The team will need a major improvement if they are to challenge England in the remaining matches.
