The tense third ODI in Vizag had a fun moment when Kuldeep Yadav begged for a DRS call and Rohit Sharma simply smiled and walked away.
Kuldeep was sure he had trapped Lungi Ngidi in front. He waved, pleaded and even marched toward Rohit, hoping for a review. Rohit stayed calm and said no. KL Rahul, leading the side on the field at that moment, also backed Rohit and let the appeal pass.
The reaction left the Indian players laughing. Fans loved it too and the clip went viral within minutes. It showed the easy bond between the two and how Kuldeep often gets a bit carried away when he thinks he has nailed an lbw.
Kuldeep later joked about it. He said:
“In DRS, I am someone who is very bad and he, Rohit, is someone who keeps pulling my leg all the time. But yeah, whenever I am bowling, if I try to hit the pad and if I succeed in that, I feel like every ball is a wicket.”
Even with the funny moment, Kuldeep had a strong match. He picked up four wickets and helped drag South Africa back after Quinton de Kock’s quick century pushed them to 270.
